Attendees will acquire knowledge, both practical and theoretical, concerning the normal operation and maintenance of Elgin sweepers (mechanical and / or regenerative). Material will be presented from an operator’s perspective with an emphasis on proper procedures, maintenance and safety. Four major topics include: Basic operation of the sweeper, daily and weekly cleaning, daily and weekly maintenance and 150 and 500 hour maintenance routines.
Attendees will acquire knowledge, both practical and theoretical, concerning the safe operation, basic maintenance and basic troubleshooting of the various areas of the Vactor HXX series fan and PD units. This includes hydro-excavation water nozzles, water pump, boom, vacuum systems, vehicle set up, dumping procedure, accessories, winterization, pre-trip inspection. Material will be presented from an operator’s perspective with emphasis on proper procedures and safety. A basic overview of mechanical systems will also be discussed.
